Interview with Hugues Renoux
|
In an alley in the Marais there is a large Brazilian flag hanging in front of a store. Firm and strong, in what is probably the most random place to find it, the store Sable Chaud (Hot Sand) is in the heart of the traditionally Jewish neighborhood, and features colorful clothes that stand out considerably in the landscape. This store, which is dedicated exclusively to quality Brazilian fashion, at the very least arouses the curiosity and interest of any given pedestrian. In this short interview, its owner – the authentic Frenchman Hughes Renoux – told us of his intentions in opening Sable Chaud three years ago. He also spoke about the differences between Brazilian and French fashion, and exposed his opinion about Brazil and the brasilidade from a foreign, but very well founded, perspective. Sable Chaud: 11 rue des Ecouffes (metro St Paul), 75004 Paris.

Brigadeiro (or Brazilian chocolat balls)
For Brazilians, making a brigadeiro is a simple and delicious task (either to eat it with a spoon or with sprinkles). We have therefore decided to share with foreigners the process for obtaining a piece of edible heaven on earth.
